The Racing Team

Fees

There are various fees charged as part of Racing Team membership:

Annual USA Athlete Registration

All swimmers are registered with United States Swimming as athlete members. This allows us to participate in meets and provides both the club and the athlete with certain insurance benefits.

This fee ranges from $47-60 per year and it is charged for each registered athlete.

Coaching / Facility Fees

Coaching and facility fees are charged per session depending on which training group a child is assigned:

The amounts in parentheses represent a discounted fee for the second child in a family (the first child is considered to be the one at the highest training group). Families with three or more children in the club are charged as above for the first two children; the third, and each additional child pays a special session fee of $50.

Summer Discount

For athletes who participate in all three of the preceding training sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring) the Summer fee is discounted by 50%.

Equipment & Operations Reserve Charge

This fee pays for the equipment needs of the club (timing systems, computer equipment, stopwatches etc.) and also helps fund the Operations Reserve account.

The following fees are charged at the beginning of each session. They are based on $5/month/family:

  • Fall -- $20
  • Winter -- $15
  • Spring -- $15
  • Summer -- $10

Parent Work Requirement

A Parent Work Requirement fee of $30 per family is charged at the beginning of the Fall and Spring sessions. This amount can be credited back to accounts after the major meets that are held in the Fall and Spring if families have met the work requirement for those meets.

Meet entry fees

There are entry fees associated with most meets that the Racing Team enters. These fees are charged to escrow accounts at the time of meet entry. Once paid to meet hosts these fees are nonrefundable. If you sign up for a meet and are subsequently entered in that meet then you pay the fees. It does not matter if you actually attend the meet or not.

Payment Policy

All bills are due and payable upon receipt. Accounts must be paid in full by the following dates in order to allow continuing participation in club programs:

  • Fall: 1 November
  • Winter: 1 February
  • Spring: 1 May
  • Summer: 1 July
UNDERSTANDING ESCROW

A family's escrow account is maintained primarily for meet entry expenses although other fees are also charged to escrow. (see below)

The initial escrow amount is $35. Additional deposits are required when/if this amount falls below $15.

Escrow information appears on the same bill as other club charges. 

Items that are charged to escrow include:

  • Meet entry fees
  • Equipment
  • Parent work requirement charges and credits
  • Team bus fees
  • USA athlete registration
