ANNUAL IM CHALLENGE
KICKS OF 2008 SEASON
30 SEPTEMBER 2007
The 2007 IM Challenge saw 84 local
speedsters in action yesterday at Shea Natatorium. In what is traditionally
the first "meet" of the season almost all of the new Saluki were able to
test the waters at Shea and get used to what a meet there is really like.
Full results will be posted once we work out a few of the computer glitches.

HAVE YOU EVER
THOUGHT ABOUT BECOMING A CERTIFIED USA SWIMMING OFFICIAL?
13 SEPTEMBER 2007
Let's face it you spend a lot of time at meets waiting around
for your child to swim. Instead of sitting in the stands trying to get
interested in that book you brought why not get more involved in the sport
and become a certified USA Swimming official? It takes a little training to
get started but afterwards you'll have a far deeper appreciation for the
work officials do at meets and you'll be one of them! The best part
though is that you'll know things others only think they know.
The closest training takes place in Cape Girardeau on 20
October but other sessions are available.
information. If you decide to take the plunge let one of our Board
Members know because Saluki Swim Club pays for all officials training
expenses.
SWIM SCHOOL

12 SEPTEMBER 2007

School gets underway on Monday, 17 September at Pulliam pool. Preschool,
beginner and stroke development classes are scheduled and space is available
at all levels. Classes are offered twice per week.
IM
CHALLENGE DATE CHANGED
08 SEPTEMBER 2007
The date for our annual IM Challenge has
been changed to Saturday, 29 September. Full details about the meet will be
published soon.
LET'S
GET STARTED!
05 SEPTEMBER 2007
The 2007 Fall training session begins
on Wednesday, 5 September and we hope all Saluki athletes are looking
forward to the new season as much as the coaches are.
Meet registration for almost all meets
on our calendar is now open. Take a look at the
calendar page and get registered for some meets!
Two meets coming up almost immediately
are the IM Challenge (06OCT) at Shea Natatorium and the Fall Festival
(13-14OCT) in St. Peter's Missouri.
Saluki athletes are automatically
registered for the IM Challenge. There's no charge for this meet and it's
held at Shea during one of our regular Saturday morning practices. It
consists of 4-50s, one of each stroke. It's a great way for athletes to get
the season started and to get a few times under their belts for upcoming
meet entries.
The Fall Festival is held in St.
Peter's Missouri and requires registration by 15 September. We have
not attended this meet in the past so we have to make sure our entry is one
of the first ones submitted in order to get into the meet. Athletes in Group
2, 3 & 4 should register for this meet.
