Saluki Swim Club Finishes Fifth in the Gator Spring
Long Course Invitational
Fifteen Saluki Swim Club swimmers competed
last weekend in the Gator Spring Long Course Invitational in Cape Girardeau,
MO. Saluki Swim Club finished 5th out of 12 teams. In the meet,
Cody Bailey set a new team record in the 1500 free. Cody, Stephen Cohen,
and Jacob Stone all swam times fast enough to be listed on the Saluki Top
five. Kelsie Walker achieved a Sectional qualifying time in the 1500 free.
In all, Saluki swimmers achieved best times in 73% of their races. Also,
they achieved 26 B times, 25 BB times, 16 A times, 7 AA times, and 2 AAA
times.
Swimmers who finished in the top 16 and
scored points include: Aidan Anthony (11 years old) – 9th in the
200 free, 10th in the 50 free and 100 breast, 11th in
the 100 free, 12th in the 100 fly, 15th in the 200
back, and 16th in the 100 back; Cody Bailey (14 years old) – 1st
in the 1500 free, 2nd in the 800 free, 4th in the 100
free and 200 fly, 5th in the 100 fly and 50 free, 6th
in the 200 free, 7th in the 400 free, and 11th in the
200 IM; Clair Boget (10 years old) -6th in the 100 free, 7th
in the 100 fly, 8th in the 50 back, and 11th in the 50 free;
Mackenzie Boget (12 years old) – 11th in the 200 breast; Stephen
Cohen (18 years old) – 2nd in the 100 breast and 50 free, 3rd
in the 200 free, 9th in the 200 IM, 10th in the 400
free, 11th in the 1500 free, and 12th in the 100 fly;
Ryan Hall (16 years old) – 6th in the 800 free, 9th in
the 100 fly, 10th in the 200 back, 11th in the 200
free, 12th in the 400 IM, and 13th in the 1500 free;
LeeAnn Jones (16 years old) – 8th in the 100 back, 10th
in the 200 back, 13th in the 50 and 100 free, 14th in
the 100 fly, and 16th in the 200 free; Cortney McCoskey (12
years old) – 12th in the 200 back, 13th in the 100
back, 14th in the 100 breast, 15th in the 50 free, and
16th in the 200 breast; Jacob Stone (13 years old) – 1st
in the 50 free, 2nd in the 200 breast, 3rd in the 100
free and 100 breast, 4th in the 200 free, 5th in the
200 IM and 1500 free, 6th in the 800 free, and 9th in
the 400 free; Emily Stroud (14 years old) – 6th in the 100 back,
7th in the 100 free, 8th in the 50 free, 10th
in the 400 free, 11th in the 200 back and 1500 free, 13th
in the 200 IM and 200 free, and 16th in the 100 fly; Carrie
Thompson (13 years old) -12th in the 50 free, and 15th
in the 400 IM and 1500 free; Kelsie Walker (14 years old) – 1st
in the 1500 free, 3rd in the 200 free, 4th in the 100
free and 400 IM, 5th in the 100 fly and 11th in the
100 breast.
Saluki Swim Club will be in competing next
month in the Saluki International, here in Carbondale May 6-8.
